Las Cruces, about 1h from Alamogordo, is the second largest city in New Mexico after Albuquerque. It's the economic and geographic center of the Mesilla Valley and a big agricultural region. Las Cruces is situated next to the Organ Mountains. The sundown and sunrise here are amazing. You can go for shopping or eating to Las Cruces after a trip to White Sands, The White Sands Missile Range or to the Organ Mountains. In Old Mesilla (historic district) you'll find the famous winery St. Clairs and good restaurants. An other famous winery in Las Cruces is Luna Rossa.
